Tulsa Trip 2005
Meeting S.E. Hinton
And a Tour of
Filming Locations
Above is the house used in the film as the Curtis house. INTERESTING INFO: in the scene where 'Darry' hits 'Ponyboy' and he runs out of the house, you can see him run from room to room as if through the wall.  Fact is, they removed that side wall from the house and then put it back!  Source: S.E. Hinton
Above is the house used in the film as Johnny's house. INTERESTING INFO: a scene was filmed showing Johnny (Ralph) being whacked with a broom by his mother. This scene has been restored to the new DVD in the 'extras / bonus' features on the 2nd disc!
Source: S.E. Hinton and Ralph Macchio (confirmed location)
This is the theater that Ponyboy is walking out of at the beginning of the film. This scene has been restored to the new DVD edition.  Source: S.E. Hinton
This is the mini-mart used in the robbery scene.  Still in full operation today.  Source: S.E. Hinton

S.E. Hinton's dog, Aleasha- "The Puppy Sister"...one of her children's books is based on Aleasha and her son as a child
The leather jacket that both Matt Dillon and C. Thomas Howell wore at various points in the film.  This is the one which was used in the 'burning' scenes.
The building which served as the 'DX' station.
The patio and concession stand at the Admiral Twin Drive-In. The railing remains that was there when filming took place.  It hasn't changed much!
"Thank You!" to the folks of the Admiral Twin for allowing us to use these photographs for your enjoyment!
Sadly, Aleasha grew doggie angel wings on July 31, 2006. She is missed by all who loved her.
